Studentersamfunnet i Bergen

Studentersamfunnet i Bergen is the oldest student organisation in Bergen, Norway. It was founded in 1934, 12 years before the University of Bergen, by a group of students from Bergen Museum.

The organisation is arranging debates and lectures on different political, cultural and scientific subjects. It has invited prominent people like Shirin Ebadi, Norman Finkelstein and Fredrik Barth.

The current leader is Camilla Søby.

The protector of Studentersamfunnet is a statue of a hedgehog, called Hans Majestet Pinnsvinet (Erinaceus europeus minor, Rex et Inspirator).
