- Revolutionary Ensemble
The Revolutionary Ensemble was a
free jazz trio consisting of the late violinist Leroy Jenkins (1932-2007), bass violinist Sirone (Norris Jones) andpercussionist /pianistJerome Cooper . The trio was active from 1971-1977, and reunited in 2004. At the time of their formation, Jenkins had been a member of the Chicago-basedAssociation for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), while Sirone had performed withPharoah Sanders ,Marion Brown ,Gato Barbieri and othernew jazz artists, while Cooper had most recently been withRahsaan Roland Kirk .Discography
