- The Skels
The Skelswere once described as “the band to see when you’re planning on getting so drunk you don’t remember your name,” New Jersey’s The Skels have played and drank their way through pubs up and down the east coast, and as far away as San Francisco, for the last eleven years.
Originally formed as the house band for a tiny Irish pub in Hoboken, New Jersey, The Skels quickly gained popularity for their abrasive and rowdy style of drunken, riot-inspiring pub-rock. Playing marathon, multi-set shows which nearly always culminate in sweat-laden, body crushing sing-a-longs, The Skels rip through Irish traditionals, country standards, punk anthems and reggae classics in addition to their three albums worth of originals, all while downing gallons of porter and pints of whiskey.
To go along with their 3 albums, The Skels have appeared on numerous compilations, on morning television, in an independent film, and have supported (and drank with) such acts as
Shane MacGowan andthe Popes ,The Prodigals andDropkick Murphys .External links
