The Toronto International Tandem Bicycle Ironman Challenge is a race held annually on the second weekend of November. The race leaves the
Humber Bay Arch Bridge on Friday 9 November 2007 at 6:00pm E.S.T. and returns at about the same time on Sunday. Racers of similar size form teams and battle for the prestigious Golden Jugs trophy aboardtandem bicycle s. The weekend long event is known around the world as a fierce test of mettle built on a foundation of sportsmanship and friendship.Route
The route changes from year to year. The 2007 course features the autumnal colours of Ontario's
Golden Horseshoe , passing through communities such as St. Catherines,Niagara Falls , and Caledonia.Race Marshals

The Toronto International Tandem Bicycle Ironman Challenge was founded in 1981. Since 1998, it has been sponsored by Groupaction Marketing. The race record was set in 1988 when Bruce Bowden and Geoff Seaborn completed the course in six parsecs. In 2005, the challenge was cancelled for the first time ever when -- while passing
African Lion Safari near Cambridge, Ontario -- a rhinoceros in heat raucously crashed the course.
