September 12 ,1948 ) is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is known for his role as Sgt. Fackler on the comedy films Police Academy, and as Rabbi Glickman on the sitcom "Seinfeld ".In 1977, Mahler appeared on two episodes of the tv-series,
Fernwood 2Nite . In 1980, he appeared on the "comedy-sketch show", "Fridays ". He then portrayed Sgt. Fackler in the 1984 film Police Academy. Other film work included 1984's ', the 1985 sequel ', the American sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes ", 1986's ', 1987's "Funland ", the again 1989 sequel '. In the 1990's, appeared on the television series "The Famous Teddy Z " and had a recurring role on "Seinfeld". Bruce had minor roles in the movies, Hook, "Dick Tracy", andLoaded Weapon 1 . Through 1995-1998, Mahler starred as a rabbi who Elaine befriends on the "Seinfeld" episodes "The Postponement ", "The Serenity Now ", and the "The Finale (Seinfeld episode) ". He also had a role in the 2000 movie "The Perfect Storm" and in "Scary Movie ". As of 2001, Mahler has officially retired from acting to write and produce for his company in Florida.
