KLPI

KLPI

KLPI (the LPI stands for Louisiana Polytechnic Institute before the school became Louisiana Tech University) is the college radio station at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. It is entirely student-operated and primarily plays a mix of alternative rock, college rock, indie, and mainstream rock but accepts requests from almost any genre. It is licensed by the FCC to broadcast with a power of 4 kilowatts. [ [http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/eng_fm.pl?Facility_id=38615 FCC file] . Currently, the station is broadcasting at lower wattages (10 to 20 watts) than their FCC charter requires they achieve. The station is looking to buy a new transmitter and regain their license to broadcast over the internet.
