Parras Middle School is a middle school in Redondo Beach, California, USA and is part of the Redondo Beach Unified School District. It has nearly 900 students on roll in grades 6-8.[1]

Awards and recognition
Parras Middle School was recognized in the 1992-93 school year as a Blue Ribbon School and as such a model of both excellence and equity[2] and is considered to hold the highest honor that an American school can achieve.[3][4]
Faculty member Janet Barker has been named the 2006 Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year, selected from nearly 80,000 teachers countywide.[5][6] Barker was also recognized as the 2006 California Woman of the Year for District 28.[7]
Notable features
- Parras students raised over $2,500 in two-weeks in October 2005 for 'Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles' for its hurricane relief efforts.[8]
- This was the only public school to be selected by Beach City Lodge for one of their endowments.[9]
Parras got a gymnasium on november 4, 2010 and had profanity written on it in june 2011 and it was quickly removed

In the year 2007, the student leadership raised over $3000 dollars to go to the Richtone Family Center in preparation for their Pier to Pier Walk in Hermosa Beach. Parras Middle School participates in many intramural sports like Soccer, Flag Football, Volleyball, Track, and Basketball. It is in the South Bay League with Miraleste Intermediate, Palos Verdes Intermediate, Hermosa Valley Middle. Manhattan Beach Middle, Adams Middle, Ridgrecrest Intermediate, and Chadwick Middle. Last year's soccer scores were as follows.(2010).
