Encyclopedia of African History
- Encyclopedia of African History
The Encyclopedia of African History is a three-volume work that has information on just about anything to do with African history. It was edited by Kevin Shillington. It was published in New York by Fitzroy Dearborn in 2005, and is only available in print in the University of Oregon library catalog, although there is an online table of contents available. It is considered a reference book, and thus cannot be checked out of the library. The Library of Congress subjects for this work are "Africa", "History", and "Encyclopedias".
Like most encyclopedias, it is arranged alphabetically, and includes illustrations, maps, a bibliographical reference section and an index. The encyclopedia covers a variety of subjects such as economics, sociology, ethnic studies, and military science.
