Boaz Ellis (born October 15, 1981, in the
moshav ofTzippori inIsrael ) is a foil fencer. In his career he was a 5-time Israeli national champion and a 3-time NCAA champion.Early life
Ellis attended Chaklai Nahalal High School, where he competed in association football (soccer), and in track as a sprinter.

In 2003 Ellis enrolled at the
Ohio State University , where he majored infinance . He began competing underhead coach Vladimir Nazlymov . Ellis won his first 34 bouts, and finished with a 37-1 record. He was twice an Academic All-conference selection in the Big Ten, is a 3-timeAll-American , and has won three OSU scholar-athlete honors. Ellis repeated again in 2006, his junior year, after a 20-1 season. He and teammate Adam Crompton (
sabre ) became the first Ohio State athletes since diver Lou Vitucci to win three individual NCAA championships.Ellis graduated from Ohio State after three years. Instead, he became an assistant coach at Ohio State, mentoring Andras Horanyi to the NCAA foil championship in March 2007.
