Kimathi Donkor (born 1965 in
Bournemouth ) is a British artist. Donkor graduated in fine art fromGoldsmiths College ,London in 1987.In November 2004, Donkor's first solo exhibition for more than a decade featured paintings marking the 200th anniversary of
Haiti 's independence. Work from the show, entitled 'Caribbean Passion: Haiti 1804' has since been on tour to Nottingham [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/content/articles/2005/10/28/caribbean_passion_haiti_1804_event_feature.shtml bbc.co.uk/ nottingham] ] , Liverpool and Ireland.In 2008, he curated the group show 'Hawkins & Co' [ [http://www.catalystmedia.org.uk/issues/misc/reviews/hawkins_co.php catalystmedia.org.uk] ] at Liverpool's Contemporary Urban Centre, bringing together several of the UK's leading artists, including
Raimi Gbadamosi ,Keith Piper ,George 'Fowokan' Kelly andChinwe Chukwuogo Roy .
