Schiers is a municipality in the district of Prättigau/Davos in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The first concrete girder bridge ever built, Salginatobel bridge, is located in Schiers.

Geography

It lies on the north border with Austria and has an area of 61.15 km², of which 26.63 km² is forested, and 20.50 km² is mountainous. The highest point is the Drusenfluh at 2828 m.

The population has shown moderate growth from 1741 in 1850 to 2637 in 2000. The population in 2005 was 2463.
