The Two River Theater is an State of the art theater located on the Navesink River in Red Bank, New Jersey. It opened in April 2005 with a live taping of VH-1's "Storytellers" featuring Bruce Springsteen. It features performances of professional plays, as well as musicians.

The main theater seats 350 people, and features a modern lighting system. The futuristic lobby features 40-foot-high glass walls. The smaller Marion Huber Theater is also housed in the complex.

The Two River Theater Company was founded by Dr. Robert Rechnitz in 1995. Before the construction of the Theater, shows were held on the campus of Monmouth University and at the Algonquin Theatre in Manasquan, New Jersey. Jonathan Fox was the company's Artistic Director from 1998-2006. The Company's current Artistic Director is Aaron Posner, formerly of Philadelphia's Arden Theatre. The theater's Managing Director, Guy Gsell, resigned in June 2008 and the company is currently engaged in a search for his replacement.

The 2007-2008 season included critically acclaimed productions of Shakespeare's Macbeth, conceived and co-directred by Posner and Teller, (of Penn and Teller) with magic will be designed by Teller. The show was a co-production with the Folger Theater in Washington, DC. Other shows in the season were "our Town", David Ives' "Mere Mortals", "The Glass Menagerie", and the original Mark Twain musical "A Murder, a Mystery, and a Marriage". In the Marion Huber Theater, TRTC produced Todd Robbins' "Charlatan's Sceance" and Laura Eason's World Premiere adaptation of Charles Dickens' "The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain".

The 2008-2009 opens with Martha Clarke's innovative and evocative performance piece "The Garden of Earthly Delights". The comedy "Art" and Shaw's "Heartbreak House" follow in the fall. At the holidays, TRTC will present a family musical on their Mainstage - "A Year with Frog and Toad". Winter 2009 starts with "Mary's Wedding" followed by Craig Wright's musical adaptation of "The Winter's Tale" - "Melissa Arctic". In the Marion Huber Theate, Associate Artistic Director KJ Sanchez directs the World Premier of her own "ReEntry", co-written by Emily Ackerman. The season closes with a South American version of Noel Coward's "Private Lives".

Making reference to popular music, Bon Jovi performed a two-hour set at the theatre in 2005. Jackson Brown (joined by special guest Bruce Springsteen), performed a benefit concert at the theater in summer 2007. Rusted Root performed at TRTC in the fall of that same year.
