Arthur S. Flemming Award

Arthur S. Flemming Award

The Arthur S. Flemming Award was established in 1948 to honor outstanding federal employees. Recognized by the President of the United States, agency heads, and the private sector, the winners are selected from all areas of the federal service. More than 500 individuals have received the award to date. Nominees may include any career federal employee who has at least three but no more than fifteen years of government service. Up to twelve separate awards will be made in three categories - Applied Science, Engineering and Mathematics; Basic Science; and Managerial or Legal Achievement. This year's award recipients will be honored during a ceremony at The George Washington University on June 2, 2008. The George Washington University and its Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration have hosted the Award since 1997.
