Angi Uezu (January 3, 1935 - ) is the founder of one of the major
Isshin-ryu karate organizations, the Okinawan Isshin-Ryu Karate Kobudo Association (O.I.K.K.A., founded in 1990), and its former head. He is the son-in-law of the system's founder,Shimabuku Tatsuo , and is a 9th degree black belt.He was born in
Chiyaranka City on the island ofSaipan . His family moved to Okinawa after WWII. He married Yukiko Shimabuku, the third daughter of Shimabuku Tatsuo, with whom he had a son, in the late 1950s and began training in Isshin-ryu karate in 1962. He is now retired from teachingmartial arts and lives inGushikawa City .Angi was inducted into the
Isshin-ryū Hall of Fame in1997 .External links
