Il Ballo del Doge

Il Ballo del Doge or "The Doge’s Ball" is an Italian masquerade ball part of the Venice Carnaval. The ball itself is held in the Venician palace of Palazzo Pisani Moretta, on the Grand Canal. The ball's name derived from the various Doges (Dukes) who ruled in Venice during the 17th Century. Every year around four hundred guests attend. Guests usually attend in full mask and period costume while participating in various festival activities.

Entertainment

All guests participate in the entertainment of a masquerade, opera singing, minuet lessons, and the serving of Italian cuisine.

Management

Antonia Sautter, Italian costume designer based in Venice, Italy, is the current organizer of this event.
