The Metro Alpin is the highest subway in the world. It is an underground funicular situated above Saas Fee in Switzerland in the Valais canton.
Inaugurated in 1992, this metro links the Felskinn cable-car station (2980 metres MSL) on the shore of the Fee glacier (Feegletscher) to the Mittelallalin (3456 m) in the north face of the Allalinhorn. The tunnel has a length of 1749 metres, with an altitude difference of 476 metres between the two stations.
