Carpet One

Carpet One is a retailers' cooperative in the carpet, rug, and other floor covering sector (vinyl, tile, hardwood, laminate) in North America, New Zealand, and Australia. It was formed in 1985 and now has over 1000 stores. It is the largest of all the flooring buying groups making its buying power stronger than its major competitor, Abbey Floor and Design.

Currently the organization is focused on streamlining their retail locations, making them more uniform thus creating a "destination" type feel.

Most of Carpet One's revenue still comes from carpet sales however tile and other hard surfaces have been steadily increasing and are currently reaching 30% of total revenue. This is partly due to current market trends however because many retail store owners are partnering with dealer based tile distributors such as Surface Art Inc, a Seattle based distributor that provides Carpet One with tile and other hard surfaces, they can now offer exclusive looks that cannot be found in other retailers.

The Carpet One organization is owned by CCA Global, their 2008 convention will be held in Houston, TX.
