Monroe, Louisiana , was a blacksongwriter who wrote "Teardrops from My Eyes ",Ruth Brown 's first number oneR&B hitsong . He wrote more hits for Brown, including "5-10-15 Hours " as well as "One Mint Julep " forThe Clovers . [cite book
