nihongo|Battle Fantasia|バトルファンタジア is a two-player arcade fighting game released on April 26, 2007 in Japan developed by Arc System Works of Guilty Gear fame, and designed by artist Emiko Iwasaki. A PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version was released in Japan on May 29, 2008.

Gameplay

The game is "2.5D" - it is played in two-dimensions, but uses three-dimensional polygonal character models except that the frames are edited to emulate the style of 2D sprites. Like Guilty Gear, the game uses unusual-looking characters, different setting, and each round acts as a chapter, making it more of a fantasy chapter book.wow

Arcade version (2007)

The game runs on Taito's Type X2 hardware and is the first game to use Taito's Vewlix arcade cabinet, which allows the game to run in resolutions as high as 720p.

Console version (2008)

Port

The game was ported on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems and released in Japan on May 29, 2008. Aksys Games has announced that they will be releasing the console version of the game in North America on the Xbox 360 version in September 16, 2008. Trial Version

A playable demo for the PlayStation 3 was made available in the Japanese and Hong Kong PlayStation Stores on May 1, 2008.
