- Hershey's Kissables
Hershey Kissables are miniature
Hershey's Kiss es coated in a candy shell. Unlike Mars' M&Ms, they will melt in your hand.Introduced in late 2005, they compete directly with
M&Ms , with the main difference being the traditional Hershey's Kiss shape, a thicker shell, and a slightly smoother chocolate. A less advertised feature of Kissables over M&MS is that they are not made on equipment that processes peanuts. The basic colors are red, orange, yellow, green and blue. Holiday version are also made in pastels for Easter, pink and white for Valentines and red and green for Christmas.
The ingredients in 2005 were: Milk chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, chocolate, nonfat milk, milk fat, lactose, soy lecithin, PGPR & artificial flavors), sugar, red 40, yellow 5, yellow 6, blue 1 & carnauba wax.
In mid-2007 Hershey's introduced a dark chocolate version called Kissables Dark, which sport more subdued shades and a semi-sweet interior.
In late 2007 Hershey's changed the description of the product (chocolate candy) and altered the packaging slightly along with the ingredients. Though the new formula contains chocolate, they can no longer be described as candy coated milk chocolate.
