Joris Luyendijk (born 1971 in
Amsterdam ) is a Dutchnon-fiction author ,news correspondent andtalk show host .Joris Luyendijk has studied in
Kansas ,Amsterdam , andCairo . He earned hisMaster's degree equivalent "doctoraal" degree inCairo . His first book "Een goede man slaat soms zijn vrouw" (1998, "A good man will sometimes hit his wife") is about theEgypt ian society from a Western foreigner point of view.Then he became a
news correspondent in theMiddle East of which he is now retired. He was stationed inEgypt ,Lebanon , andIsrael . He also reported on the Second Gulf War inIraq . His book "Het zijn net mensen" (2006, "They are just like people") is about his experiences as a news correspondent in the Middle East.Currently Joris Luyendijk lives in Amsterdam. In the summer of 2006 and 2007 he did interviews for the
