Ski resort is located 46 kilometers west of Santiago, capital of Chile.Valle Nevado is one of Chile's most modern Ski Centers. It was created in
1988 by french businessmen, taking European Ski Resorts located at theAlps as model to follow.With more than 9.000 hectares of skiable area, is considered one of the most modern Ski Centers in
South America . During last years, trails have been extended and a new "snow park" and "halfpipe" was created for different kinds of freestyle skiing andsnowboarding . Also,heliskiing can be practised here. Valle Nevado was the host of the Snowboard World Championship in2005 .
