Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan is a Mexican folkdance company founded in 1967 by
Hermina Enrique Acosta . Currently, her daughterViviana Enrique Acosta , is theArtistic Director .For 38 years, The Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan presented "Sunday Zapateado" the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. at the
Centro Cultural de la Raza in [Balboa Park] , located in San Diego, CA. . Other major productions included "Fiesta Poblana" duringCinco de Mayo festivities and "The Night Sky" adance theatre production about theMexican Revolution .As of Spring 2008, the Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan became resident dance company of The Studio At North Park in San Diego, CA. The company performs the 2nd Saturday night of each month at 8pm, presenting folk dances from different states of Mexico, in full traditional costumes.
The Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan also performs at various civic and community events, as well as weddings and private parties. Former and current dance company members are as follows:
