American Journal of Archaeology

American Journal of Archaeology

The American Journal of Archaeology (AJA) is the journal of the Archaeological Institute of America. Featuring articles about Middle Eastern, Classical, and other varied archaeological disciplines, the AJA has been published since 1897 (continuing the "American Journal of Archaeology and of the History of the Fine Arts" founded by the institute in 1885). Recent publications of note in this journal include reports by Col. Matthew Bogdanos of the US Army regarding looting of the Baghdad Museum and subsequent recovery efforts.

The journal's current editor is Naomi Norman, a professor at the University of Georgia, USA.
