- KAsteroids
KAsteroids is an asteroids game for
KDE . It is like the traditional arcade game of asteroids, but with some extra features. The game is written for theLinux platform and is released under theGNU GPL .Objective of the game
The objective of the game is the same as arcade asteroids, which is to destroy all the asteroids.
KAsteroids features
*Fuel - Players have a limited amount of fuel. Using thrust to move around consumes fuel. Fuel can be regained by collecting fuel powerups released by asteroids.
*Brake upgrades - Players can collect up to five brake upgrades to help brake their ship for more control, as well as lower fuel consumption. The ship initially has no brakes.
*Shields - Up to five shield upgrades can be collected, so that if the ship goes into a rock, the shield can be activated so they won't lose a life. Activating a shield requires a lot of fuel consumption.
*Guns - The player's rate of fire is initially limited to only two shots on the screen at a time. Up to five guns may be collected, raising the total number of shots allowed on the screen at a time to seven.
*Asteroids - Each "frame" of the game has a number of asteroids approximately half the frame number (ie, the first two frames have one, the next two frames have two, etc). In higher numbered frames the asteroids break into faster-moving pieces. The highest frame number is fifteen. The sixteenth and all subsequent frames are repetitions of frame number fifteen.
*Ships - In its default configuration the game gives players three ships. The game's options may be changed to start games with up to six. The number of ships remaining (not including the current ship) is displayed. There is no way to get additional ships beyond those initially alloted.ee also
