Sean Fagan

Sean Fagan is a Sydney based sports historian, author and journalist, specialising in rugby league and the 19th century origins of rugby league and rugby union. He has written articles for Australian national daily newspapers, numerous sports magazines and the website http://www.rl1908.com He has self-published two books "The Rugby Rebellion" (2005) and "The Master - The Life and Times of Dally Messenger" (2007) co-written with Dally Messenger III.

In 2007 he delivered the 9th annual Tom Brock Lecture, one of the ongoing activities conducted by the Australian Society for Sports History. [http://www.sporthistory.org/TomBrock.htm] . He was one of the college of 130 experts commissioned by the Australian Rugby League and National Rugby League in 2007 to select Australian rugby league's 100 greatest players for the code's Australian centenary celebrations in 2008.

He is a member of the Australian Rugby League' s Centenary Historian Committee [http://www.raiders.com.au/2008/detail_desc.php?news_id=405] selected to advise on aspects of the centenary and was a contributor to "League of Legends" a travelling museum exhibition developed and presented by the National Museum of Australia in 2008. He has compiled and maintains several websitesVerify credibility|date=August 2008 containing his personal perspectives on the early history and origins of football codes in Australia though with a focus on and clear bias toward rugby league.
