Wordfast was first written early in 1999. Version 3 existed by September 2000. Up to the end of 2002, Wordfast was free with free registration. Version 3.35x was the last free version. Version 4.22t22 was the last fourth version, published in June 2004. The current version is version 5.50.

Wordfast can translate the following formats: any format that Microsoft Word can read, including text files, Word documents, RTF (rich text), tagged RTF and MS Word documents (including HTML). Wordfast can also translate
Microsoft Excel andPowerPoint files.It does not offer direct support for
