Columbia Records , whose then-owner, the media conglomerateCBS , was also the parent company of the Yankees. It was recorded by the Sid Bass Orchestra and Chorus."Here Come the Yankees" is one of the most notable theme songs in pro sports, along with the
New York Mets anthem "Meet the Mets " and theMinnesota Twins ' "We're Gonna Win, Twins". The instrumental version airs at the top of all Yankees radio broadcasts and was also used on Yankee telecasts until 1990.The version with lyrics begins:
