Ricardo Domínguez Urbano-Taylor (Caracas, Venezuela 1903- Caracas, Venezuela January 30, 1976)
Businessman, urbanist and entrepreneur, owner of "El Heraldo", a well-known newspaper in Caracas. Domínguez, alongside his partners, José Loreto Arismendi and Luis Roche, is responsible for developing the east side of Caracas. He designed and financed the construction of residential areas such as La Castellana, Altamira, El Country Club, and tried to do so with Caricuao, but an agrarian reform decreed by President Rómulo Betancourt, who ironically had been an employee of Domínguez, made it virtually impossible.
Ricardo Domínguez was a man of great vision. In the 1930, he teamed up with his friends Werner Heuer Lares and Luisa Heuer Lares de Mata, and became a minor associate at "El Universal", one of the most important newspapers in Venezuela. That partnership wouldn't last too long for Domínguez decided to retire in order to focus on the construction business, which he did for the remainder of his life.
