- Ganim
Ganim ( _he. גנים) was an
Israeli settlement in the northernWest Bank under the administrative local government of theShomron Regional Council . [http://www.shomron.org.il/Index.asp?ArticleID=938&CategoryID=53&Page=1]The settlement was founded in 1983 by members of
Betar . [http://www.voices-magazine.com/04-07%20Jenin.htm] Its name was derived from the biblical name ofJenin , the nearby city, which was originally calledEn-gannim . Ein Ganim belonged to the area under the control of theTribe of Issachar . For this reason, Ein-Ganim was also the name given to an Israeli community which today forms part of the Israeli city ofPetah Tikva .The 107 residents of Ganim were evicted from their homes and their houses razed as part of Israel's disengagement of 2005.
