"The Intellectual Activist" is a monthly Objectivist magazine based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded by Peter Schwartz in 1979 as a fortnightly, it became a bi-monthly after Robert Stubblefield bought it in 1991, and then became a monthly in 1998. It is edited by Robert Tracinski (since 1996), who has owned it since 2001.
It is particularly dedicated to understanding and promoting the ideas of the novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand.
A bound collection of the magazine under Schwartz (1979-91) is available from the current publisher.
