The
US Strategic Command Joint Information Operations Warfare Command (JIOWC) is responsible for the integration ofInformation Operations (IO) into military plans and operations across the spectrum of conflict.IO involves the integrated employment of the core capabilities of
electronic warfare ,computer network operations ,psychological operations ,military deception , andoperations security , in concert with specified supporting and related capabilities, to influence, disrupt, corrupt, or usurp adversarial human and automated decision making while protecting our own. They apply across all phases of an operation, the range of military operations, and at every level of war. They are a critical factor in the joint force commander's capability to achieve and sustain the level of information superiority required for decisive joint operations.Located at
Lackland AFB ,Texas , the JIOWC's mission is to assist in planning, coordinating and executing information operations. The center deploys information operations planning teams worldwide at a moment's notice to deliver tailored, highly skilled support and sophisticated models and simulations to joint commanders, joint task forces and theJoint Staff .The JIOWC provides direct Command and Control Warfare (C2W) tactical and technical analytical support to operational commanders. It supports the integration of operations security, psychological operations, military deception, electronic warfare and destruction throughout the planning and execution phases of the operations. Direct support is provided to unified commands, joint task forces, functional and service components, and subordinate combat commanders. Support is also provided to the Office of the
Secretary of Defense , the Joint Staff, the services and other government agencies. The JIOWC maintains specialized expertise in C2W systems engineering, operational applications, capabilities and vulnerabilities. The JIOWC is comprised of a balanced mixture of personnel from all four military services, the civil service and three allied nations.Subordinate commands

The Joint Information Operations Center (JIOC) stood up in September 1999. It was redesignated from the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center, which was formed from the nucleus of the former Joint Electronic Warfare Center. In 2006, the Joint Information Operations Center changed its name to the current Joint Information Operations Warfare Command.
