"Yume no Uta / Futari de..." debuted at the top of Oricon charts with sales of 175,643 copies, the second highest debut sale by Koda and the second highest debut sale for a Japanese female artist in 2006.Fact|date=May 2007 The first for both are held by Koda's previous single,4 hot wave .Fact|date=May 2007Both songs have their own covers for both the CD-only version and CD+DVD version.
Unusually enough, the songs both use the same melody. The arrangements differ, as well as the lyrics and vocals - 'Yume no Uta' is sadder and more of a power ballad, while 'Futari de...' is quieter and a bit happierFact|date=May 2007 - but the melody is shared between songs. This was done because the single is set as a two-story ballad, with each song representing different sides and outcomes of the same love story.
