Paul J. Barbadoro (born 1955,Providence, Rhode Island ) is aUnited States District Judge for the District ofNew Hampshire .Barbadoro graduated from
Gettysburg College in 1977 and earned a law degree fromBoston College Law School in 1980. He was a New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General from 1980-84, and was counsel to SenatorWarren Rudman from 1984-86. During theIran-Contra scandel,Barbadoro served as Deputy chief counselon the U.S. Senate Committee on Secret Military Assistance to Iran and the Nicaraguan Opposition. Barbadoro was an attorney in private practice inConcord, New Hampshire from 1986 until he was appointed to the federal bench by PresidentGeorge H. W. Bush in 1992.More recently Judge Paul Barbadoro was brought in from New Hampshire to handle the case of the current governor of Puerto Rico Anibal Acevedo Vila as a visiting judge. The governor was indicted on 21 federal charges and due to the extensive coverage of case in the local media it was thought that Judge Barbadoro would be a better choice for the case.
