Freelan Oscar Stanley

Freelan Oscar Stanley (June 1, 1849 - October 3, 1940) was an American businessman. He was the co-founder, along with his twin brother Francis Edgar Stanley, of the Stanley Motor Carriage Company which built the Stanley Steamer.

Biography

Freelan Oscar Stanley attended Western State Normal School. They were able to take their Stanley Steamer to the summit of Mount Washington on August 31, 1899 to prove its durability.cite book |last= Maine League of Historical Societies and Museums |editor=Doris A.
