George Webb Sweigert

George Webb Sweigert

George Webb Sweigert played basketball for Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) from 1978 to 1982. He was named an Academic All-American and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholar in 1982. In his four year collegiate career, he scored over 1,000 points (28th alltime) with 682 rebounds (8th alltime), and 317 free throws made (9th alltime).

He played high school basketball for North Side High School (Fort Wayne, Indiana). He was named to the Silver Anniversary Team of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.

He currently lives in Tualatin, Oregon with his two children, Joshua and Sierra.

He is the youngest son of George Sweigert, inventor of the cordless telephone.
