He is most famous as a judge on Australia's version of "Dancing With The Stars".He has won many dancing titles, and has trained in jazz, tap, acrobatics and ballroom dancing. He has performed on stage since at least 1984 in such productions as "42nd Street", "
Pirates of Penzance ", "Strictly Ballroom ", and "La Cage aux Folles" and "Singin' in the Rain".He rose to fame when he took the lead role in "

25 April 2008 . McKenney has been charged with drug possession after he handed the police a vial of party drug GHB. Since the story was leaked to the press, McKenney has issued a denial. He now claims that persons unknownspike d his drink, then placed drugs in his pocket, with the overall plan being that he pass out somewhere and be discovered by the police, and eventually media. According to McKenney this unlikely scenario must have been motivated by "tall poppy syndrome ".
