- Daniele Ledonne
Danny Ledonne (born January 18, 1982) is an American
film director . He is a graduate ofEmerson College 's film program in Boston, Massachusetts. He has directed three independent pieces including a short biopic on the work of directorStanley Kubrick , a Lego-animated political satire entitled Ship of Fools, and a found footage music videos lampooning the Bush Administration. Danny's interest in wildlife filmmaking fostered the production of "Wild Animals, Domesticated Humans" during his final semester at Emerson.Danny has served as key grip, gaffer, 1st AC, and cinematographer on dozens of student and independent films and music videos in the New England area. Danny held office as the 2003-2004 president of Frames Per Second—a co-curricular film production organization at Emerson. The group was named the college's Organization of the Year. Danny has worked as director of photography on the wildlife documentary "KiskaDEE," editor for the feature-length experimental documentary "An Awakening Journey," and shot and edited a documentary in the wilderness of eastern Africa entitled "Kenya Hidaya."
Controversy
In 2005, Daniele created "
Super Columbine Massacre RPG! ", a controversial video game in which players explore the final hours in the lives of school shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Distributed via the Internet, it sparked debate (in the form of press coverage) over the game's purpose and social value.Feature Length Directorial Debut
In 2007, he produced and edited the full-length documentary, "" The film features over fifty interviews with game industry leaders, theorists, and developers, authors, filmmakers, journalists, elected officials, school shooting survivors, concerned citizens, festival organizers, media activists, free speech loyalists, and videogame players. In the film, the controversy surrounding "
Super Columbine Massacre RPG! " is chronicled. By featuring numerous independent games including "Super Columbine Massacre RPG! ", the film examines the videogame/real world violence debate as well as exploring the future of interactive media's potential to confront serious issues. The film features notable figures including "Jack Thompson (attorney) ", "Hal Halpin ", "Doug Lowenstein ", "Jason Della Rocca ", "Jenova Chen ", "Brian Flemming ", and the hosts of "Free Talk Live ". It is currently being screened at film festivals such as the "Denver Film Festival " and "AFI Fest ".ee also
