The Legend of Princess Snow White or Shirayuki-hime no Densetsu is an anime series based on the European fairy tale. The series was based on the German version of the fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and was converted into a 52-episode TV series by the Tatsunoko animation studio in 1994 and aired in Japan on NHK. Tatsunoko's production incorporated several "prelude" episodes emphasizing the romance between Snow White and her prince before launching into the story in proper continuation form.

Episodes

1. Beautiful As Snow- A beautiful child is born to King Conrad and Queen Isabel from the Valley of Emerald. But, when Snow White turns 4, Isabel dies, and Conrad marries Queen Chrystel, a beautiful and loving woman. Soon, the Kingdom is threatened by a war, and King Conrad leaves. Then is when Chrystel shows her real personality. 2. A Wild Ambition - With the King gone, Queen Chrystel is able to do whatever she wants. She spends tons of gold on jewelry, robes, as well as she frequentla consults her magic mirror to tell her who's the fairest of them all. She is using every occasion to put Snow White into shame, but Molly, Snow White's nana, always is there for her, until Chrystel dismisses her.

3. A Meeting On A Sunny Day - Chrystel decides to throw a party, in honor of her beauty. When the guests see Snow White, they turn all attention to her, due to what her stepmother sends her out of the ballroom. While wandering through the woods with Mustache, her dog, Pocket, her cat and CuCu , her white pigeon, Prince Richard of Alberville spots her and they spend the rest of their day together. When Chrystel discovers that night that she was walking with Richard, she condemns her to stay in her room as a punishment. 4. The Promise Was Kept
