Sean Christopher Mahan (born May 28, 1980) is an American football center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Notre Dame.

Mahan has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Early years

Mahan attended Jenks High School in Oklahoma where he had a fantastic career, earning an MVP as a senior.

College career

Mahan played college football at Notre Dame where he played in 41 games starting 25. He was one of four Notre Dame offensive linemen drafted in 2003. He majored in psychology and computer applications.

Professional career

First stint with Buccaneers

Mahan was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round (168th overall) in the 2003 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, he made most of his appearances on special teams and made his NFL debut at the Atlanta Falcons on September 21. Throughout the next three season, Mahan played in every single game for the Buccaneers and in 2005 was part of the offensive line that helped Carnell Williams to the NFL Rookie of the Year.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Mahan was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 12, 2007 to a five year 17 million dollar deal.
