Dames Margot and Maroie

Dames Margot and Maroie

Dame Margot and Dame Maroie ("fl." 13th century) were two trouvères from Arras, in Picardy, France. The only extant work of theirs is a single debate song, or "jeu-parti" (see also partimen). This song survives in two manuscripts, ["F-AS" MS 657, f.141"v" and "I-Rvat" Reg. MS 1490, f.140"r"] which each give separate and unrelated melodies. [Coldwell]
