Geoffrey Hutchinson, Baron Ilford

Major Geoffrey Clegg Hutchinson, Baron Ilford MC (14 October 1893 – 21 August 1974) was a British Conservative politician. Hutchinson, son of Henry Omerod Hutchinson and Elizabeth Clegg was born in Prestwich. He served in the Lancashire Fusiliers in the First World War, reaching the rank of major and winning the Military Cross. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for Ilford from 1937 to 1945, and Ilford North from 1950 to 1954.

Hutchinson became Honorary Colonel of the 5th Battalion, The Lancashire Fusiliers in 1948. On 14 May 1962, he was made a life peer as Baron Ilford, of Bury in the County Palatine of Lancaster.

He married Janet Bidlake Keep, a daughter of Henry Frederick Keep and Annie Elizabeth Bidlake in 1919. Lord Ilford died in Cannes, France.
