Galiform plc (lse|GFRM) is a leading United Kindom-based kitchen cabinet business. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a former constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

The Company was founded by Noel Lister and Donald Searle in London in 1964 as "Mullard Furniture Industries" ('MFI'). Mullard was Searle's wife's maiden name.cite web|url=http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2006/sep/23/privateequity|title=MFI sold for £1 and repackaged as Galiform|publisher=The Guardian|date=September 23 2006] For a short time in the 1980s the Company was part of the ASDA Group.

In September 2006 the loss making MFI Retail arm was sold to Merchant Equity Partners for £1, while the Company retained "Howdens Joinery" builders merchants. Operations

The Company trades as "Howdens Joinery". Howdens have circa 450 depots in the UK and also trade from several depots around the Paris area in France under the name of "Houdan Menuiseries S.A."

Howdens kitchens are manufactured at plants located in Runcorn and Howden.
