- Baldwin Nkumbula
Baldwin Nkumbula was a
Zambian politician and son of veteran politicianHarry Nkumbula . He served under Frederick Chiluba's cabinet as Minister of Sports in 1991. He would resign his cabinet post in August 1992 sighting rampant corruption. He was a cofounder of the National Party and became its president. He was a wealthy entrepreneur and was considered a strong contender for the next president of Zambia.He was married to Chifunilo Chembe with three children Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula, Mundusu Nkumbula and Mwanida Nkumbula.
He died in a car accident in August 1994. The Mercedes he was driving overturned en route to
Ndola fromKitwe . President Chiluba's son, Castro, was a passenger in the vehicle and survived the crash with injuries.External links
