Muhammad Hassan di Tiro (born
25 September 1925 ) is the founder of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), an organisation which has been seeking the independence ofAceh fromIndonesia since its founding inDecember 4 1976 . He is also the grandson of Tengku Cik di Tiro, a Indonesian national hero who was killed fighting the Dutch in 1891.After leading an attack that killed two American engineers in
