Sandown Mile

Sandown Mile

The Sandown Mile is a Group 2 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1 mile and 14 yards (1,622 metres) at Sandown Park Racecourse in late April.

First run in 1985, the race has had many different sponsors, the latest of which, since 2008, is Bet365. The "Bet365 Mile" follows on from such previous incarnations as the "Trusthouse Forte Mile", the "Gardner Merchant Mile", the "KLM UK Mile", the "Masai Mile", the "AtTheRaces Mile" and the "Betfred Mile".

It takes place at the same meeting as the Bet365 Gold Cup (National Hunt) and the Casino at Bet365.com Classic Trial (flat).
