Carlos Gautreaux

Carlos Gautreaux (born September 23, 1977 in Kaplan, Louisiana) is a former major-league baseball outfielder who played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He is a former 12th round pick in the 2000 MLB draft. For his minor-league career, he had a batting average of .316. From 1998-2000 he played collegiately at Oklahoma State University-Stillwater, where he was Big 12 Conference Batting Champion in 2000. For his efforts in the 2000 season, he was named 1st Team All Big 12 Conference and 2nd Team All America by both Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Gautreaux was consistently ranked as a top outfield prospect within the Devil Rays' organization. Despite 3 successful seasons, his career was cut short because of injury.
