Kaplan, Louisiana ) is a former major-leaguebaseball outfielder who played for theTampa Bay Devil Rays . He is a former 12th round pick in the 2000 MLB draft. For his minor-league career, he had a batting average of .316. From 1998-2000 he played collegiately atOklahoma State University -Stillwater, where he wasBig 12 Conference Batting Champion in 2000. For his efforts in the 2000 season, he was named 1st Team All Big 12 Conference and 2nd Team All America by bothBaseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
