Steven Griffiths (cricketer)

Steven Griffiths (cricketer)

Steven Paul Griffiths (born May 31, 1973 at Hereford) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who played for Derbyshire between 1995 and 1999. He also played for the Second XI of Somerset early in his career.

He was another of Derbyshire's wicket-keepers who, thanks to the form and consistency of Karl Krikken, didn't appear nearly as much as he should have in the County Championship. However, it was his lack of runs in even the Second XI which rendered him unable to compete with his teammates, despite a sound defensive technique and the odd intriguing stroke generally associated with non-specialist batsmen.

Griffiths was released in 1999 and replaced by Luke Sutton.
