Abbas Mirakhor has served as an economist in the Research Department of the IMF and was formerly Professor of Economics at the
Florida Institute of Technology . He received his PhD fromKansas State University , and has published in a variety of areas, includingmicroeconomic theory,mathematical economics , andIslamic economics . He is the co-author of a book called "Theoretical Studies in Islamic Banking and Finance" published by Islamic Publications International on September 15, 2005. He received theIslamic Development Bank 's (IDB) 2003 prize in Islamic economics together with Dr. Mohsin Khan, Director of the IMF Institute.External links
