ntupdate =Paul Pezos (born
February 11 ,1979 ) is anAustralian football (soccer) player fromSouth Australia . He has played in theNSL withWest Adelaide SC from 1996 until 1999 and then went to play in theSouth Australian Super League withAdelaide City . Paul was signed byA-League outfit Perth Glory on a short term contract on the advice of former Perth Glory club legendDamian Mori because of his stand out performances forAdelaide City .Pezos was named in the 2006/07
A-League Dud XI on popular Australian football website, www.pintculture.com. His selection was based on three woeful performances, which included a red card againstAdelaide United within minutes of coming on as a substitute. The red card was the first and to this point only second dismissal for a Perth Glory player in theA-League . [cite news|url=http://www.pintculture.com/default.asp?action=article&ID=2059|title=A-League Dud Team of the Year|date=January 22 2007 ]He is often cited as a good example of a solid State League performer being cruelly exposed at a higher level. In his case, the exposure was perhaps even greater than may have been expected, due to the perceived weakness of the South Australian league compared to other State Leagues, a point which Aurelio Vidmar himself readily acknowledges. For Pezos to make a move back into the professional ranks at his age would appear to be extremely unlikely, given his age and previous nightmarish performances at the top level. Clubs looking to strengthen their defensive stocks would presumably be more interested in picking up similarly aged players with more professional experience, or blooding a promising youngster.
